Would you like to help? Do you need some help? Introduction to volunteering Advice for volunteers News and diary |
Helping Hands WeekHelping Hands are looking forward to holding a 'Helping Hands Week' starting on Saturday 8th February, the aim of which will be to promote Helping Hands within the community both to future clients and prospective volunteers and also as a thank you from us to the community for all their support. Helpings Hands week will start with kiddishim being held on Shabbat 8th February at the Brighton & Hove Hebrew Congregation, the Hove Hebrew Congregation and the Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue and will end with a Kiddush at the New Synagogue on Shabbat 15th February. During the course of the week Helping Hands will go on the road, visiting as many of the Jewish Organisations in the town as possible in order to heighten our profile. This week has two purposes. The first will be to recruit new volunteers and the second, which is equally as important, is to make Helping Hands known to those people who may need our help. We feel it is important that other voluntary organisations understand that we are not treading on their toes but rather working along side, helping each other fill in the gaps. There are all sorts of ways in which volunteers can help and it need not be particularly time consuming. Even the odd hour here or there can MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE TO A PERSON IN NEED. If you can spare an hour, please contact us on 01273 747722. Ten Reasons for volunteering
