Helping Hands took part in Mitzvah Day on November 24th.
Mitzvah Day is the UK’s largest faith-led day of social action. Over 55,000 people around the world, come together to give time to make a difference to the community around us. This includes introducing people to social action, to their neighbours and to local charities, setting up projects, which address real needs. Mitzvah Day is Jewish-led, bringing together people of all faiths and backgrounds, to volunteer side-by-side, building longstanding, genuine relationships.
Helping Hands worked together with Brighton and Hove Reform Synagogue, Shoresh
Nursery, Shnat Sherut Banot and the Youth Group at BNJC.
We spent Mitzvah day at the Helping Hands garage providing soup deliveries, cakes made by BHRS cheder and sending out cards made at Shoresh Nursery.
Thank you to all those involved! A big thankyou to Leo, a student from JSOC who came to
help set up too.
Today we were stronger together for Mitzvah Day
Some amazing feedback:
“You're amazing! Thanks very much for delivering, despite the wild weather, wonderful soup
and delicious Mitzvah cakes etc - all much appreciated”
