Winter Community Lunch - Wednesday 15th January, at AJEX hall

Updated: Feb 5

We had a fabulous time at our 'Winter Community Lunch' on Wednesday 15th January 2025.

This was in-place of our Chanukah lunch that had to be re-arranged.

An afternoon of community, fun, music, joy and of course some delicious food!

Thank you to all our volunteers who made the afternoon happen and to Bertie for the excellent music.

Here's some wonderful e-mails we've received following the Lunch:

"Dear Sarah and all volunteers at Helping Hands.

I wish to offer a big thank you for yesterday's Winter Community Lunch. Also, for the uplifting entertainment from Bertie's singing accompanied by his guitar.

Bertie created a warm community spirit shared by everyone in the hall. Bertie's vocal resonance and joy was shared by his audience. With his popular song selection; especially the Neil Diamond iconic song of ' Sweet Caroline'.

I appreciate all the efforts from the cooks, table setters, washing up team, the welcome desk and waiters/ waitresses. Not forgetting, all of those drivers who patiently collect us and drive us to the venue; then home again after the event.

The cup of tea and chocolate money/ gelt gave a good cheer and well thought out farewell to the occasion.

Bless you all"

"Thank you very much for your lovely hot lunch. Just right for today and my condition. Delivered to me by my neighbours. Sorry I missed a successful lunch and entertainment. Best Wishes"

"Thanks very much for delivering your wonderful food even though we couldn't make it to the lunch. What a surprise! How kind you are. Best Wishes"

"Thank you all for a tasty and friendly lunch and the songs sang by the wonderful young man. Love to all"
